ABOUT
Since graduating from Parson's School of Design in New York City, I’ve maintained active studios in both Tunisia and Boston as a multidisciplinary visual artist. I work primarily in watercolor and oil, but my practice is not confined to these mediums.
Exhibiting regularly since the late 1990’s, my work is held in private collections across the United States, Europe and Asia, including England, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Italy, Tunisia, and Japan. My work, whether through evocative figuration, abstract expression, or imaginary landscapes, is committed to portraying the strength, endurance, and regenerative power of the human spirit.
I continue to work regardless of location with the full support of my husband, two children, and multitude of pets. You can see more about me and my recent projects by following me on Instagram at: rebecca_v_mann.
Statement...

When I approach a blank canvas or sheet of paper, I have no preconceived idea. After applying materials in a rather haphazard way, I rely on the paint's qualities and characteristics to create a dialogue and the process becomes one of discovery and problem solving guided by intuition rather than strict intention. Through this interaction, the fun begins as forms and figures appear, an image surfaces, and the painting takes its course.
